Bring your discussion here for what you would like to see from JF7 and where you would ideally like to see it take place
We will need to book the venue by the start of August to stand a chance of getting anywhere so hurry with your preferences!!!

birmingham wanted £400+ and for us to fill out god knows how many pages of documentation and we would have had to given them details of our insurance details which we just haven't needed thus far...
what we always aim to do is work with the club who reside at the venue so we can use on e of their allocated days for use. We also do not actually require to have insurance because our events are held under UKA rules and as such we get covered by UKA's insurance

Hi Sam
I was thinking about running a East region one. How would you like us to meet in the middle and do one together with East England sponsoring it or supporting it under the name of the javelin festival. ie it is your fest which we would 'buy' into so to speak.
What you think?
I would also like to do a shot event as well as we could run a short throw as well as a long one at the same time. Give me a call if you are interested. Venue - Lee Valley or preferably Eton/Bedford who have good indoor as well as outdoor facilities and posbly more accessible to the midland/northerners.
You know I like bedford as it practically gaurantees PB's!
Also the T6 throws events are starting up again in Wales if anyone want to travel across the boarder -just don't forget your passports - we're pretty hot on that stuff over here you know! There will be a welcome in the hillsides for a weekend stay and that's it boyo!

the fixture needs to be central because it needs to be understood that the bulk of the throwers who would actually attend come from the south (as the southern throwers make up the bulk of the UK rankings) south being south of the "Watford Gap" services on the M1

How about Sheffield or Manchester? Tez knows of a school nearby to Sheffield that has a good track and by September will have an indoor area. Worth looking at Tom

Hi Tom,
That sounds good - one of the key factors in securing a track for the event is the cost. If I can speak with you, Tez and whoever else necessary then maybe this could be a good venue. We had booked Birmingham before but the cost was way over our capabilities and we had to bring it to a free location we knew we could secure.
We are hoping to have one particular event to differentiate JavFest 7 but will try and release details of that once the date and location are secured.

I imagine that will be the plan - we'll need to find the weekend with the least clashes and go for it.

Ahhhh yes! If you were willing to travel slightly up north... there is a track at Spinkhill, at a private school called Mount Saint Mary's As far as I'm aware... I could negotiate with them to perhaps get free usage? It's brand new... And can be used for international competitions
