compared to the fees charged by birmingham over £400 this is not too bad. they have charged us at the conscessions rate (if the entire fixture was U16's)
we were only issued with one firm lead for use of another facility in the north and they then didn't have the decency to respond to me.
Members from the south have been more than willing to assist in getting facilities for cheap and this is why we have been blessed with the facilities we have had.
Watford stadium tried to charge us £220 after we had been promised it for free. I refused to make the payment as they had also failled on supplying officials as they promised and were reluctant to open the bar area despite this being a revenue generator for them.
This time around i have had to deal with the stadium management direct and not had the luxury of being able to use an unused club slot in the diary (as we did for bedford.. the fixture was actually free because it was already down as being vacant for use of bedford and county AC)
Ideally i would liek to get a sponsor so that all the monies received from the entry fees do not have to pay for the stadium and then have money for other things.. a raffle, prizes and even payment to officials (if they have to travel extensive miles just to officiate for us)

actually that's incorrect. Last year we had to pay for eton and the bill was picked up by select sports. This year we had to pay for milton keynes ok it was only £60 but that's because we have people on the inside.

I presume the idea of mucking in with Liverpool Harriers at their throws meeting was a no-goer ?

indeed. i would like to keep Jav Fests as unique as possible. when we start mucking in we start to lose what the event is about..javelin only no interruptions
the cost isn't a problem i was just telling people what the price is.

James you know full well that all the other weekends are congested with fixtures
there is the National Junior League Promotion Match National Junior League Final eastern young athletes league final National Young athletes league final UK women's league promotion match British League promotion match English schools multi events
The weekend i have selected is not too late in the month and is the least congested weekend out of them all with only the english schools multi's on that weekend
If anyone else can do any better please feel free to
ideas have been thin on the ground despite there being a constant call for jav fest to "go north"
i have picked a stadium which suits the needs of everyone because it is far enough north to suit those coming from the far reaches and south enough for it to not hinder those coming form the south it has good transport links.

ALL PLEASE NOTE
After receiving the paperwork for the Derby venue i t has come to my attention that we cannot fulfill the requirements needed.
this was one of the main reasons why we never held jav fest at birmingham (aside form the £400+ bill)
We are requested to supply risk assessments and insurance documentation to confirm cover for the event and remove the leisure centre's liability for the event.
Due to the timeframe now I am asking YOU the members if the following weekend Saturday the 27th of september is a suitable replacement date or saturday 6th of september which only has the national young athletes league auxiliary final in birmingham and the BAL cup final in bedford

Sam thanks for all the work you are doing to plan this. Eton would be great for Matty B, and 6th Sept would be better than 27th but he could make both. David B

Just a thought Sam - how about having music to go with the throwing at the Jav Fest? I don't know whether you already do this but it might add to the atmosphere. I can highly recommend Scooter's "Jumping All Over The World" for getting the blood pumping and it helped me in Slovenia. Just a quick blast on the Ipod before the comp really got me moving!!! ;D ;D

At last! Someone replying to my music suggestion! I wondered whether I would get some stick for my suggestion - either having music itself or my preference of artist! ;D

Well tbh I think the northern ideas have gone out the window! lmao! the college in sheffield didnt reply back, then the next closest venue that you tried was derby and thats out the window and then after that it was back down south to eton. I dont think it matters really where the venue is! I thought Milton Keynes was really good, liked the run up et all. I suppose the main thing is finding a good venue which is available and affordable ect ect!
