That meet might be too early for me, I could use it as a good training session though, but as Peter Yates said "athletics weekly dont print in the results unimportant competition" so I may have to get my butt in gear. Where is Mayesbrook and at what time, I looked at the Chelmsford meet 10.30 , my brain wont be awake for that.

I will also be starting at the Havering Open at the end of the month. Unfortunately, I've still yet to pick a javelin up since last summer so will just use the open there to get the feel of throwing again as I always leave it too late in the season! The county champs are the 3rd, 15th and 16th May this year so it gives 4-6 weeks before them to start throwing well. Anyone have any ideas which day the javelin will be on (in Essex if possible)?

The senior men javelin for Essex is on day 2 thats Saturday 15th may at 3.30pm. But believe me it will not start on time because at 2.30pm is the under 17, junior and senior women discus.

Plan to open up in Spain Alfas or Alicante over the Easter period with my group. Always nice to go for an early season chuck and see where I am at, probably then compete again near mid May (Counties) and then end of May at Inter Counties - from there possibly a few throws in Europe if lucky enough to get in the comps and then of course compete with the rest of the boys in UK.

Well done for getting this moving. It could be the beginning of a "Javelin Circle".
I am more interested to know when you people will be meeting in a championship event. Will it be the senior southerns?

I imagie that a few of us will be throwing at the Senior SEAA champs at Watford: www.thejavelinclub.homestead.com/fixtures.htmlSince we are from various parts of the country though and may not get the chance to compete in the AAAs it is most likely we will all end up throwing against one another at our end of season meeting also to be held at Watford.
