MAtti 64.21m UK 14 age best 700g - Good job as he didn;t want to throw and TBH was looking a bit awkward when throwing. Slingy I think the word is!!!!!
Pieter 52.15m I'll have another look at the score card which is somewhere around here......

inefficient and he threw the 800g last throw just to see how bad it was - you can get a way with it at his age with the smaller javs but it was amplified with the 800g.

hazard a guess the word slingy was used regarding a low, wide arm - maybe tucking in a bit too?

hi Nigel would be grateful if you can find the results of the morning comp-at LV I think my girl Jess may have achieved the essex county schools standard -i know it is early days and she will need to achieve this distance or more in county champs- but it is nice to see these results on the teapot

bonne opened his account today at the havering open meeting in the cold and rain
61.64m
Brad burr improved his best to 49.72m...massively topped it and basically threw it into the ground
Jim evs warmed up with a massive throw however could only muster a 63.01m throw in the comp...6m better than his openeing comp 2 weeks ago!!
Georgie bean threw in excess of 53m in the last round with the 700g and was out to 51.70m with the 800g.
i'll get the full results when they are published on my club website

good early work guys! jim - please, please don't get in the habit of the long warm up game! far too many people have good warm ups and not as good comp throws - find out what it is that worked - bottle it, screw a lid on tight [till it clicks in some cases ;D] and only open in comps!

I've been plagued by that curse in the past and last yr i did'nt even bother taking many warm-ups and only threw around the low 60 mark before the comp after this incident!!
In benidorm and Alfas del pi last yr I warmed up with throws in excess of 65 and in the comp had 59's lol, needless to say i messed my run-up up bigtime as when i came back to the UK i threw over 67 straight off!! But it told me something and i did'nt want it to happen again!!
This yr will be fairly similar although the low 60m mrks will increase to about 65's as my throwing has improved!! But as Sharpey says bottle it up and get ready to explode in the comp not the warm-up!!
Relaxation is the key as in warmup you are always more relaxed than in comp!! Stay in that frame of mind!!!!

Pretty sure its a trend I'm not likely to repeat, its never happened to me before - normally my comp throws are 5m more than warm up at least. I know from my own feelings and others' observations what I did differently in comp to make the throws worse, was just a case of not holding my left side as well and probably trying a little too hard. Still, its within a metre of my PB in the rain so I'm happy with it.

Other results I read/heard of was Alex VDM backing up his 74m with a solid 71m in Texas and I believe Lee D threw 65 in Tunisia (although I heard that one not read it!).
