For those of you that missed it on Sunday morning: The TV clip from the competition I did with Matti Mortimore on Channel Four's "The McCain Track and Field Show" is now up on You Tube: Battle of the Generations: www.youtube.com/watch?v=78OPnVweKeg This was a rather interesting competition and very funny - at least I thought so: Throwing snooker ques, wellies, fish, water balloons, Guinness book of records, records and of course a kitchen sink. Who do you think won: The 47 year old or the 16 year old?

That was quite good!
Hasn't Emeka got the WR for a sink throw or maybe it was a toilet - something quite bizarre like that anyway!
You just know that huffy is going to go out and try and throw all them things now!

I thought it was good. but i was rather dissapoined that they didnt show any of the events i won then altered the score!!!! i wouldnt of minded if they had mentiond the other events and aknowledged it in the score... but to outright tip the score to 7-1 i thought was unacceptable

Sharpey - why is it always me that bears the brunt of your banter lol
tbh i did throw a vinyl the other week as i was given one at a Red Bull event and didnt need so i lobbed past the end of the street lol O and i do have the mobile phone record which was set after i had my elbow injury in 07 so i reckon i could put it out of reach now lol
Quite funny to watch and i love the way Roald throws everything miles! Thats man after my on heart that!!

he's on your heart? - you have me concerned.
it said on the film the alledged WR for golf ball lobbing is 121m was it? - you could beat that!
..if you can lob a nokia over 100m legit i'm sure 121 with a golf ball would be within reach - tbh there's a few UK athletes that could have a go at that...merv, mike, you, ben houghton is similar to mike I've heard, lasher aswell......loads!

i can throw a golf ball over 120m. trust me people like merv and hughffy would be around 150m with a golf ball.

Interesting one this.
Do ' you ' think Discus throwers, and their rotation technique, would be better suited to throwing a golf ball than Javelin throwers? There was a lot of rotating in the comp. including a 'double on the run' from Matti.

Maybe that should be the competition then... Discus v Javelin v Hammer v Shot...?

The actual score was 8 to 3. Do you know why they cut the other 3 throws? My thinking is that you could not see them well enough. It was great throwing with you and a lot of fun - a lot of fun. ;D I look forward to watching you future career. You are a real talent. cheers

Matti - off on a tangent here - but how is the back? has it recovered or is it a slightly longer prognosis and recovery.

I reckon I can throw a javelin further than a golf ball. I'm crap at golf ball/stone/other ball throwing.
Phil, Huffy does throw balls/mobiles/dummy out of the pram rotational like discus, but with a javelin delivery - I don't think the discus boys could touch him, he has just as much range as them bearing in mind he's as tall as a telegraph pole.
