Looks good. Proforma not attached, but I am down at Brunel with the RAF Athletics team so will be there www.englandathletics.org/news.asp?itemid=595&itemTitle=Raising+the+bar+%2D+England+Athletics+conference+to+raise+coaching+standards§ion=42§ionTitle=England+Athletics+NewsEngland Athletics is to host a coaching conference featuring top speakers across a range of events. The day at Lea Valley on 6 December will allow coaches across a spectrum of disciplines to gain deeper understanding through a series of workshops and talks each hosted by a specialist expert. The experts presenting at the day include: Frank Dick OBE. Frank has worked with athletes including Daley Thompson and Denise Lewis as well as other top level sports people such as Boris Becker and Katarina Witt. Fuzz Ahmed, the coach to Beijing Olympic silver medalist Germain Mason. Tom McNab, a specialist in jumps and speed events. Mike McNeill, former coach to British number one Goldie Sayers and Mark Roberson, currently he works with Kelly Sotherton. Prof Alison McConnell, professor of Applied Physiology at Brunel University where her main research interest is 'respiratory limitations to exercise'. Fuzz Ahmed will be delivering a talk on Raising the Coaching Bar and delegates will have the choice of a variety of workshops during the day. Frank Dick will also be delivering a keynote talk.

I'm going up to Glasgow. I went last year so received an email several months ago from SAF and I think the EACA about this years conference but nothing from UKA or Welsh Athletics. Scottish coaches were probably emailed and/or sent details by post by SAF.
Looking forward to it with some good speakers, workshops and the chance to meet fellow coaches.

The Glasgow Conference is nothing to do with UKA, nor EA. Several of the sports websites advertised it though.
I was asked to contact Shot coaches who might wish to attend, as the main throws thrust is in that event. I was also asked later to include some Hammer coaches and developmental places.
I myself paid for this event months ago and sorted out accommodation. I did not wait to be asked, as I did not expect to be. Sometimes you just have to do things for yourself!!!!!!
England may still have some vacancies, so I would suggest you contact your CCSO and request to go. Do not expect full funding though, you need to show some financial commitment of your own.
The Glasgow conference has no workshops aimed at Javelin, the 3 EA conferences in a month's time do. So I would recommend they may more of more use?

again malcolm i have to disagree with you. The governing body and england athletics pay administrators vast sums of money. Why should i have to go hunting for potential courses. This is the job of the admin. They have all our details they know who we coach they know what level we are and what we have attended before so they should damn well know when an up coming course will be of benefit. If this is not the case then what else are they being paid to do?
