I've also heard before that anorexia can be a way for some people to exert a level of control in their lives. What do you think caused it in your case? Well, I have always been conscious of the way I look.. i guess because i have always been told that I look WAAYY young for my age - people still think that I am like 14 when I am 17. I have been told that achieving people develop eating disorders as they are always under pressure to perform well in whether it be sports or school work. I felt this from my teachers and parents all the time and I think this was a major point for me as it happened at the beginning of year 11 when GCSE exams were coming up. Hmm but still, there must be a stronger underlying problem that I am not yet aware of. I am sure I will find that out soon.

basically i am just keeping an eye on what i'm eating.. trying not to eat oo much rubbish and now including fruit every day at least 2 bits. my fruit of the moment is the conference pear. yum. drinking plenty of water and trying to do more activities..although i have not yet been able to get into the kinda work i want to be doing. the jav fest weekend was a big calorie burner.. running about all day and then competing and then dancing the following day i found myself running about the field with the flags at my club open..
i do feel happier now that i have lost some weight but i know there is still lots to get rid of!

Yeah fruit is a very good option for snack time because it makes you feel awake and its got plenty of natural sugar and no fat so your metabolism stays high, you burn fat and have energy at the same time. I eat a minimum of 3 bits per day and really love it too Grapes, Kiwi fruit, juicey oranges, crisp apples, pineapple, melon and of course the staple of bannans- never go training without one nowadays yum yum yum

excellent sam! yeah, i reckon i must have burnt stacks of calories at javfest too ;D ;D ;D you see, i ate rubbish tbh over the saturday night and all of sunday and didn't gain any weight at all yeah, certainly fruit does play a huge part in my diet mate too and i can easy eat 5 portions a day of fruit and veg, as with the veg [salads] form a big part of my main meals every day and the fruit is great for snacks or with cereal and also helps keep my "sweet tooth" happy. the only problem with nice, fresh fruit is that it really can bump up the food bill i find, especially if you eat alot, as you find you have to go back to the shops more than once in the week to fill your fridge and cupboards back up, off topic a little now but relevant i feel is that surely it's far better imho to buy good wholesome food than say buy a load of those thermabolic type supplements and as you can tell i know very little on supplements, do they even work at all or are they just a gimmick and a con? surely the key to losing weight is to burn more calories than are being consumed and not to rely on supplements? or do these actually help you burn more calories?

Every drug has side-effects and for that reason alone its best not to use anything if you don't have to, so yes i agree 100% thats its best to do things naturally. I've heard too about the reccomendation you should eat 5 portions of fresh fruite and veg per day and with these recent threads about shaping up i've occasionally counted my own intake- and it seems i average about 10 portions of different fruit and veg per day. If you eat processed or convienience foods and take supplements to get your vitamins etc then you are going to find it very hard to achieve the 5 bits per day policy

Well done Sam, am not too sure it's necessary to weigh yourself 39 times a day though! Try once or twice a week, same time of day, same state of dress.
Keep up the good work! Just think you'll save a fortune in 20p bits that you need for pumping up the tyres on the Cooper! ;D ;D ;D
Jezza.
