i mean your body has to be conditioned for the event,u just cant start throwing right and u just cant start sprinting,i.e throwing muscles developed to throw, legs strong for bounding and sprinting, stretching etc.....is that explained better?

I think Phil means - age, gender, throwing ability (pb etc) events you do, other sports, what commitments you have - in other words tell us about yourself first

Training is very individual, you need to assess strengths and weeknesses before you can contemplate what you'll be doing over the winter. As well as information on here, it'll be a great idea to see a weight lifting coach to make sure technique etc.. are spot on or else its to the knackars yard for you. Technique is probably more importance in the gym as the training on the runway health and safety wise. Throw a jav wrong and you could get elbow shoulder problems over time. Snatch wrong and you could end up not walking again, but done right, the benefits are great!

Aj just a quick comment on your weight lifting so far as it tells a bit about your abilities. Your bench press is far advanced compared to the other lifts. Without seeing you in person it suggests that you already have good upper body strength but its the lower body which is lacking. Eg priorotise the legs alot more. If you boost your squats up by 40kg or more you will be better balanced and getting more power from the floor. This is wher the throwing power starts. Also increases in leg power will immediatley show up in your power clean and snatch results.
However dont get too hung up on weights, you need a program of bounding and medicine ball/overhead shot throws to complement activate your specific throwing power.

Right now overhead shot forwards (soccer throw) and backwards are enough and perhaps a rotational throw like swanbeck swing. For lower body 3 bunny hops into the sandpit and 5 stride alternating leg bounds also into the pit. The winter is a different matter and there is a ton of stuff to do. I'm hoping that we get a thread going after the season with detailed plans.
