I am sitting here reading all about the testing of this and the testing of that...but what does it all mean...does it mean anything at all??
Great i improved my Quadrathon test score by 10pts but how much of an improvement is that really? what benefit is it going to give me? 1m? 5m? 10m?
Yes i can launch a med ball 20m over and over again.. but how does that help me? why does it help me?
it's very good that these tests give us something to aim for but how many of you guys keep testing through the whole of the year to see if you are maintaining your strenghts?
there is no talk of what people are doing to improve their technique...consistentcy...poise..stability...etc..
what sort of footwork drills are people doing?
slinger keeps saying about doing run-ups...lots of them.. but wht kind of run ups? full speed? half speed? how about blind run-ups? (so that you feel the rythmn and have to listen to your feet)
If people are throwing what are they throwing? how many throws are they taking? how much effort is being given and what sort of distance results are they getting for the time of year?
What sort of plyometric sessions are being done?
How many of you are videoing your sessions to review them either at the track side or at home?
if you have the capabilities get them hosetd and get the links in here for others to view and comment on.
These are good questions that many new people would be thinking but not asking.
We need to start to think about what we post.. give full explanations of what it is we are doing and what it consists of and why we are doing it and what the hoped benefits will/should show.
Ok guys and girls...get your thinking caps on and your typing fingers (or in slinger's case finger) warmed up...we don't want any injuries
