You can get overweight jav's at Pro Athletics and Neuff etc....but they can be easily made, I've made a jav that weighs just under a 1kg....First you have to check where the centre of gravity is by balancing the jav by the grip (on your finger or hand) to the point where it balances straight on its own. Then tape some batteries, wire or lead etc.... just below and just above the grip, but make sure the centre of gravity is still in the same place as before....also check the weight as you dont want it too heavy. Hope it makes some sense!

JB, to be honest at your relative standard (and I mean this as being new to the event - congrats on the pb) you probably don't need to worry about overweight javs (this will lead to injury). Buying one is extra expense but making one out of a gash 800 will work just fine (provided it is balanced correctly)
Underweight is fine so just throw some club 600's and 700's. I have a silver OTE 700gm that is the same size as an 800 and it works for me, the rest are Apollo 700's. I never throw overweight javs at all, they are too unstable and to be honest, with the power that I can generate into a throw (and quite often not through the right path) they will just blow my shoulder/elbow apart.
Use the 600 and 700 javs and concentrate on correct flight alignment ie the javs are landing straight not to the right and left, and you should be fine.

thanks for the tips tom. ive been training with underweights regulary now find this has helped my 800g throwing. it has also helped me keep my arm in better shape as with my training levels quite high at the moment it had been strugling as you know.

The other week i competed with sam, ant and bone at the reddicth open, prior to throwing i warmed up with one of sams nerf vortex balls. its a great warm up aid even if the noise is annoiying. since then i have been trying to find one cheap in the uk. below is a link to the cheapest website ive found as yet. it stikll costs £20 which is extorsion as it only cost $5 on the toys are us site in the states and they have even cheaper ones that dont make any noise. if anyone knows where i can get one of the cheaper elsewhere please let me know www.airculture.co.uk/airtoys.htm
