I have taken some still images from video clips of me and of the guys at last years worlds: Plant Me, Thorkildsen, Henry, Zelezny server6.uploadit.org/files/athletestar21-Plant2.JPGRelease Me, Thorkildsen, Backley, Zelezny server6.uploadit.org/files/athletestar21-Release3.JPGIn the pic's you can see that my base is clearly not big enough....which has always been a big fault of mine as it does not allow me to get a good pull on the jav, so I tend to throw with mostly arm. Whats also interesting is how much Backleys is dropping in the realease pic! What are you guys noticing?

Your base doesnt look to bad to me anthony and you look almost identical to the others on the plant frame (we could ALL do with larger base)
couple of points..
does backley just appear to be dropping as the picture is later than the others as he releases and strikes the arm later then most ?
look at Yan ! so much for arm by the ear !.. mega sling ;D
i would say that on the release the only major difference from you and the others is that they appear to still be driving from the hips, midriff and legs. you can see that your guts are facing forward whereas there's have gone round and started to face left field / left foul
cheers

For my height I should be getting a much bigger and stronger base....which is why i'm leaning forward, as I dont get a stronge block so I tend to throw with mostly upper body....imagine my front leg being forward then my upper body would seem as if it was back slightly.
Backley realeased the jav in pretty much the same position!

the strangest thing here anthony is that i know you are a left handed thrower and the pics of "YOU" clearly show a right handed thrower....CARE TO EXPLAIN YOURSELF?

Yehh, but if you find one who has the same size feet you could use there right boot and give them yours as they drag the other foot.
They have to be usefull for something.
Actually, training with a lefty makes me think about the throw more as it's not my natural movement throwing on the WRONG side.

The left side is not the wrong side so being a lefty actually helps you then
