Great news to hear that Tim has been announced as a mentor for england athletics for javelin. Best wishes to him in the job.

Sam this is an excellent move for the event - Tim is a good bloke with plenty of experience in the wider sporting world - his excellent skill set will be a real bonus to help look after/mentor coaches. I am sure there was some form of recrutiment process, but even there wasn't EA have the right man in this case.

Lots of mentoring for tim - just goldie on the lottery - no merv. 1 shot, 2 disc, 3 hammer. Lots of relays! POssibly a realistic stte of where we are right now in the throws

What list was I looking at and was it too early!!!!!! I also realised there are 4 disability athletes on there as well who I coach/advise/assist/ruin! Didn't know their 2nd names!
Joking asside, Tim's responsibilities are far more reaching than the few on lottery - it is for the event on general and has all of our support hopefully.

Err... Merv isn't disabled... nor are any of the selected hammer throwers. Well have to disagree there - I thought all hammer throwers were disabled

Hammer throwers - a bit mad I reckon!.....It's not even a hammer! I mean someone ought to tell 'em it's a ball on a wire - love to see 'em try and bang a few nails in with that!!! ;D

Wishing Tim all the best in his new post - I always felt he was an excellent coach who was at the time I knew him overshadowed by J T -

Indeed, wish him luck.
Not a bad youngster at the event either - 65m as a first year under 17, which by my reckoning makes him 2nd best ever in the UK at that age after Dave Parker.
