Can anyone recommend a good quality digital camera (with video) that I can use to record training footage and then play back on the laptop for coach and athlete to analyse?
Budget is £200-ish

Hi Ivan. I recently bought a digital camera for use as a coaching aid. So it needed Slo-Mo Video, HD Video, Continuous Shooting modes etc. After a bit of research I bought Casio Exilim FX-100. Its a point and Shoot not a camcorder so at least I can take nice pictures on holiday too. 9.1 mp (not the higest-I know) but it does all the above. 1000fps Slo-mo @ 6.0 mp HD video at 9mp and upto 30 frames per second - nice for showing still position photos. Its pretty easy to use and I am well happy with it and it works really well as a coaching aid. Bought for £225 on Amazon, so pretty near your budget. I've uploaded a video to my Photobucket if you want to take a look at a sequence in Slo-Mo s678.photobucket.com/albums/vv142/bobbymagpie/?action=view¤t=CIMG0170.flvAlso i was tempted by a mobile phone upgrade to a Samsung Innov8 Which i read was voted best cameraphone that also does Slo-mo video and is 8mp, which is pretty good. But I ended up going for the camera which is more specific to what i wanted. Anyways hope this helps. Bob.

Hi Bob. You're a star. Thank you for that. It looks very good and has everything I need. Dixons have them in stock at £180 too. It's amazing how quickly prices come down on technology products - it had an RRP of £350 when launched in April 09. I think I know what I'm getting for Christmas Thanks again. Ivan

Just to correct a typo error, possibly a major one, the model is Exilim EX FC-100.

As with all modern technology these days, if you wait it is out of date by the time the price reduces and there is a much better replacement on the Market !!!

These are great bits of kit, but only one word of warning. Once you start recording, you cant zoom in or out like a normal video recorder.
