I am not a happy coach at all!
Kike Oniwinde is NOT going to be at the UK School Games despite being on the entry list for the Eastern Region. They have decided to give the girl they had as reserve Kike's place despite kike having a 5.40m better PB.
I have tried and tried to get a consistent response from them about what the hell is going on but have failled to do so, the calls have resulted in Kike now being dropped alltogether from the squad thus denying her the chance to experience the atmosphere in her final year of the U17 agegroup.
The responses have ranged from:
1. Kike turning down the chance to throw for East
2. Kike filling out forms to say she wanted to compete for East and then saying she was competing for London
3. Kike never being selected as the thrower for the East in the first place and that she was always the reserve.
4. Kike missing the deadline to tell East that she would compete so they had to put the reserve in her place (despite them telling her today that she was always the reserve).
London who could have also picked Kike have selected a girl who has thrown 33m because the East had already submitted their squad which INCLUDED KIKE as their javelin thrower
we have been working towards this event since the U17 champs, Kike has even bought a new javelin ready to use there, I have booked acomodation because she was told she was competing for EAST.
I tried to speak to one of the main selectors a Maureen something but she talked and talked and talked and would not let me speak for 20mins. she reeled of lie after lie after lie about kike's behavoiur and what had gone on and what conversations had been had over the phone between kike and Karen the person who had selected kike.
They have made a mistake somewhere and will not reverse it... they said.."we can hardly tell the girl we have put in that she's not throwing now can we" oh no... but it's ok to drop the number 2 best thrower in the uk though isn't it who happens to be one of the most promising young black javelin throwers the uk has seen.
Is it because she is BLACK?? you got to wonder......
