I have had this problem with my javelin stalling for ages now and have only really hit the javelin right through the point a couple of times . One of the those luckily being at the english schools however in the last month I have been at the AAA and throwsfest and every one of my throws is stalling really badly and I have been only throwing around 53m 6m off my pb it is very frustrating I have been told that I drop my tail . Does anyone have any other reasons why my javelin may stall or ways to help me correct this so i can improve so the javelin flys correctly Thanks joe

The 700g spear is the most tempermental with regards not being very forgiving if miss hit and not aligned very well - often many metres can be lost with a stalling throw.
May I suggest you work hard and try and keep the javelin under control and still from withdrawl onward to the commencement of delivery. You should keep the throwing arm in the same place and not let it waver about or drop suddenly with the javelin point relatively fixed at eye line - this will always ensure the jav is hit pretty clean.
Watch the women's world champs final tomorrow and see the athletes there all keeping the javelin still and under control - it might help to see it done well, then you can visualise that when you throw.
