I'm sure the selectors are sitting around a table, drinking tea, eating chocolate cake and laughing about who they aren't going to send. I hope they make the correct decisions and send a full and very strong team.
Hopefully Mervyn will be on the list.
Looking at the selection critera it is a bit 50/50, in particular with the latest 5 comps, or so.
They are cruel people who decide, but I hope they are thinking long term with those magic couple of words which seem to allow anything to happen, London 2012.
Good luck Mervyn

No argument here. 3*B standard & 1 A should be plenty good enough.
Though still a bit erratic, he's hugely improved this year with the potential to get better. Can only benefit from the experience.
Shame the Euro Teams wasn't his finest hour, but the selectors would be pretty silly if they put too much weight on that.
I'm sure he'll be on the plane.

I'd like to say congrats to Merv (and John) for getting selected for the worlds.... I believe if he hit it right, he may get close to 85m.......
85m... could that get near the medals?
And good luck to Goldie... I hope things work out and a medal comes back to Briton.

Good luck to Goldie but she's had big comp. experience. This is a big deal for Merv - a big deal. This is going to help towards his prep. to 2012 even if he fails to throw well in the qual's. The whole experience is nerve wrecking and to get this under his belt now is vital prep. for what's to come. Go get 'em u2.

Very many Congratulations to Goldie and Mervyn.
Things are looking up at last since Nick Nieland's snub.
