for most of us the high point of the season has passed and the time to the start of the winter training is fast decreasing.
What will you be aiming for in the last 2 months of the season?
for me the high point of my season was the southern championships. It's the biggest champs i can realistically get into each year and so far that has been my peak this season with a throw 1.62m better than anything else i have done so far in 2009. I spent the preceeding months protecting myself so that i could make it to the event in once piece. now that's over i will just be going nuts without a care for the consequences, knowing that i made it to my big event and threw well.
i personally only have 2 league matches left plus a handfull of open meets in the back end of the season to get over that (to me) magic 55m mark

Looking at my season on thepowerof10 it seems that my only highlight is my 3K pb in May! ;D
In all seriousness, my biggest plus is that I have not had surgery this season and if I can get to the end of the season without then I will be a happy man.
Biggest regret is my second competition of the year at Lee Valley - I was technically very close to a big throw but messed up.
Rest of the season: Score some more good points for Belgrave and get back into the Premier of the BAL and throw a PB!! I started lifting again 4 weeks ago and am up to the same levels I was in March when I was throwing my furthest and while my technique isn't changing a lot, that is the biggest indicator of a big throw for me so fingers crossed!!

this was a tough season for me, infact it was bearly a season.
i am still injured since last year september. i am probably worse off now than i was then (thank you doctors for all your help).
however all injuries(elbow and shoulder) set aside i am satisfied with this year's performance. i only did 2 comps. one at javefest to try and qualify for schools. then the english schools.
i came 4th at schools which i am very happy with. however the elbow bearly lasted for the first 2 throws. the third was one to many.
i am hoping to be injury free by december and back on form by february. then win english schools with 69m

Having been so badly injured 20 months ago i'm still on my comeback right now. Anything over 60m would satisfy me for my next comp and then to get back to 64m by the end of the season would be enough to motivate me for a proper winters training and some pbs come 2010. If that doesn't happen i'm not sure if i'll be throwing next year to be honest so this final part of the season is quite critical to me.

My season started out very well and I was hopeful of officially setting a new British record for my age group having set an unofficial best with a new spec in April. However, javelin took a back seat after my 90 year old mum became very frail in May and then died in June. I've competed since but probably not in the best frame of mind - and I injured my elbow in France competing for the GB Masters team. I was distracted by a crumbling run up and tried to stay on a very narrow intact path, dropped my arm and brought it round the side. The arm is getting better as is my throwing now, taking onboard advice from Caroline and an Italian connection! I have one more comp before my family goes on a well deserved holiday, with a few more on my return. I'll try again next season. On a far happier note, my daughter has done very well this season in her discus and will represent Sussex in the U13's Inter Counties, hopefully nailing one over the 20m mark!

Ditto fella! Got a comp. lined up hopefully, which is 26th September, but yet to find out if the spear for SM is included. Been posting with Sam about having a chuck as been doing some training in June and early July (no throwing) but snagged my shoulder lifting stuff at home (not training) - how stupid is that!!? I never went skiing when I was competing years ago as I didn't want to knacker myself doing a 'pleasure' sport but here I am nursing a sore shoulder from moving sh*t at home and I've not competed for 9 years - just the thought of throwing again has brought the cock up demons out to sit on my back! Sometimes I just think my card is marked X - ! Still, nil desperandum - I'm moving on. Although it's not been said, I feel a bit of a challenge from Sam should this meeting have a SM for us. I know he is desperate to throw 55m and if I could throw 55m in 10 weeks without ANY adverse pain in the days afterwards I'd be pretty chuffed. Yes, in 10 weeks I probably could get myself in a position to wack one mid - 60's or more, but I would hurt for weeks (shoulder) and put back any thoughts of throwing in 2010 by months. My goal is to throw 55m and still be able to brush my teeth the next day with the same arm! Oh, and to beat Sam by 2cm! ;D ;D ;D

I don't know you Carrie but sorry to hear the news about your mum - not really suprised your mind wasn't on throwing - when mine goes I'd probably have trouble remembering where the toilet is -
