Apparently UKA will not encourage athletes to change coaches but will try to support the existing coaches, certainly at the first instance.
The idea for the National event coaches is that they will remain in close contact with the athletes and their coaches.
This seems quite a sensible approach.
Hope everyone is enjoying their season.

Jeremy, you were most conspicuous by your absence from the British Vets on Saturday ? Are you OK, I thought you were a permanent fixture there !

starter for 10 then
Who is the current national jalvin coach?
and for another 5 who is the England mentor for the javelin event?
SO I guess we have to talk to oursleves until a person is put in place or someone acts as the central focus then!

I thought JT was the National Coach?
From what I gather the mentor role is getting too difficult to fill with a calibre individual - shame as the event is crying out for it.

As per usual it is all about money. Not enough of it where it should be and where it is needed.
Too much of it going to alickadoos.

Back in my day with Nige, Steve, Mick, Robo & others we had squad weekends with JT Nov, Jan and March. We then had warm weather training around Easter time in Portugal. Has this all stopped?

in fact gary the squads are not athlete based anymore. the thinking from the top is to get the coaches educated and bring along a few athletes for demonstration purposes. Athetes have nothing to look forward to anymore, nothing to strive towards other than inflated targets set by UKA...for example IAAF U20 target 66m UKA target 70m...

Jeremy, you were most conspicuous by your absence from the British Vets on Saturday ? Are you OK, I thought you were a permanent fixture there ! I was actually there, but not throwing as injured . That said there were some important changes at the AGM ( the reason I went up), and things look better for the Masters now going forward, which is good news for Britain's (arguably) most successful group of athletes

I have heard a rumour that JT is out of a job. Can anyone confirm or deny?

I suspect it won't be too long before he gets a role.
Perhaps Middle Distance now?

It would seem that Javelin hasn't any head/lead role type figure at the moment, is this to change in the near future?
Why JT has no role is beyond me.
I have nothing but good things to say about Trower.
