In reply to Slinger I inttend to coach my granddaughter who is still at primary school -dont want to start her straight away with a 400g- want to proect her arm with a lighter weight jav. About 2 years ago I was involved with Basildon Athletic Club coaching Primary schools - we were supplied with hard plastic javs. I found they flew like a conventional jav. not like those foam ones.

Hi John, Hope you are well and that the table tennis is going ok. The 300g javelins are a great buy IMO for the youngsters - I was at Basildon when they were using them for the primary school kids and it was the safest but most realistic way of them throwing javelins at that age. They're also very cheap - only £20.75. I'm planning to get one for Zoe's eldest when the time is right, he's growing out of the Polanik mini javelin already (he's 2 and a half now!) You can find them here: vault2.secured-url.com/athleticequipment/acatalog/300g_Nordis_Fly_Hi_Javelin.htmlCheers, James

oh ok, sounds like a good plan godfather, all the best with that - i'm sure she'll love it! my nephew what he was 6 used to throw my 700g javelin [the lightest i had at the time] - not entirely on his own though, as i had to hold the tail up off the ground! ;D - an 'assisted' 7m

Hi James Thank you for your info will follow it up -
thanks your enquiry re Table Tennis -Going very well -This year was my first full competive season for 25 years -went well we won our league -plus I entered the championships -I cant remember the last time I entered TT champs,It must have been in my twenties.-anyway I entered the handicap doubles ( based upon league rankings ) and to my surprise we won the event knocking out some 6 pairs.
It was a long day I got to comp at 8.15am and left at 8.45pm -back the next day for further comps. I must been a bit mad , I entered 9 events. Still I thoroughly enjoyed myself

reactions of a bird?
my cat can catch birds if it wishes - doesn't though, as it's far too an easy task for her...
