Since Christmas I have had this problem with the tendon in my right arm which attatches the bicep to the forearm, opposite side of elbow. So I did some research and was told it was called golfers elbow. I find it only starts to hurt when I throw the javelin after about 3-4 throws in comp. Then it starts to hurt so I stop throwing then when I get back home ice and rest. But then as soon as I start throwing the javelin again it's starts to Hurt again in the tendon area and feels sore. Does any1 know how this is caused? Any1 else have the same problem is it to do with back technique lack of strenght in tendon? Can any1 help of have any reasons to why?
Thanks joe

Have the same problems Joe. It actually caused me to stop throwing and I have only returned now after nearly 9yrs! Its very frustrating as like you say I can Lift, bound, run everything and no pain but as soon as I let a Javelin go its there! Its definately down to poor technique, low throwing arm & round arming as they say. Need to work on chest & shoulder flexibility as well as forearm to ensure arm is coming over the top and not to the side. Try let the legs, hip & chest work as apposed to hitting it hard with your arm to get distances. See my post on 'Chest Flexibility exercises' I think its in the training section for some ideas on flex exercises. Main one being 'Rotations'. Gripping a pipe or bar (like snatch/ clean) and rotating it from in front of your hips, back over your head to your lower back and back again. Just to give you an idea they say you should be able to do 64cm to throw approx. 65m! Thats 64cm distance between one hand to the other. Thorkildsen can do I think its 24cm but then again thats one extreme as he is supposedly (obviously!) very flexible..
