If you want to set up a personal challenge with another thrower on the site then get it listed in here.
the idea of these challenges is to get within a set distance of the person you are challenging. This is just for fun (unless you set a personal wager with the person you are challenging).
Good luck!
So far the following challenges are
Sam v Slinger 10m Sam v Bevan 5m Hughffy v Everard 10m

Is there any M55 throwers who would like a challenge, i dipped my toes in the water last year after 20 years and threw 35.65 off 3 strides, i have winterd well and have set my sights on the uk c/ships this year and early indications are good and an additional challenge would be welcome

Lusis - my dad is making a comeback to the M55 this year. I think he threw around 45m in his first year M55 - hes now 58 but hes in good shape, 150kg bench press no less!

I would like to throw down the Gauntlet to Jim Evs, considering we are 'multi- operated cripples' and team mates floating around the same sort of distances we will have an ongoing fight over the A string this season.
The challenge is multi part, with one point for each 1-3: 1 Overall winner in head to head meets. 2 Most Pbs 3 The greatest distance produced 2009 4 Every operation required during 2009 -1 point.
The Loser can pay any hospital bills/counceling incured by the night out in Banbury following BAL1 (Abingdon)

so how are those challenges holding out so far...
harrison - sharpe 51.53m - 61.87m = 10.34m = 0.34m short for Harrison Harrison - Bevan 51.53m - 0m = 51.53m = 56.53m short for Bevan everard - hughff 62.82m - 76.92m = 14.20m = 4.20m short for Everard

I like it, this could be a good motivator. Setting up a challenge against a similar standard thrower.
Come on out Sotherton, where are you hiding ?

If there was a competition for who can throw the closest to the 30m line I would be up for that! I will see if I can "sail" it out to the heady heights of 34 later today! Im useless and dont care......la la la!

Hey distinctus, the only thing that matters is that you enjoy it.
I have the same battle with 40m. Hit 39.99 twice in my last comp last year. This year, three comps, 39.06m 39.95m, 39.65m.
If we weren't at the bottom, pal, there wouldn't be a "top" for the good guys to be top of !

Bizarre - just going thorugh old results for the club archives and I've discovered a...
...J. Everard who ran the Helsby 4 Villages Half-marathon in 1hr 27:45 min back in January 1983. Finished 181st out of 632 (about 15 minutes faster than me !).
Is there something you'd like to share with us James ?
