Any Advice on buying javelins?

Hi guys,

Im a 1st year u15 with a first throw of the season of 30.63 (PB) but can blow that away at the next meet and get around 34 i reckon, anyway i was wondering what javelin i should buy (600G) for under £90 i am thinking about getting the polanik class 1 (50m) off of track and field sports.com, but what javelin do you guys suggest? i throw through the point, they almost always come down with the old 50m i use, i get good height so what one do you suggest?

something like that would be fine, the nordic 50m star is slightly above your price range, but is a class ahead of the polanik regarding quality wise and if you could stretch to that then that would be my choice - it would last you 2 years [this and next year] and you could sell it on after your under 15 years for maybe half it's retail price, so not a bad investment for 2 years worth of throwing i don't think and it'd be much easier to sell than the polanik.

Would you say the nemeth standard 50m is better that the 50m star??

personally no, but i would say the nemeth 50 is a better javelin than the polanik.

javfest is in a few weeks i am sure there will be a whole range of javelins there and people would let you try theres i am sure, if you can make it to that comp, it'd be a great way to find out what you like.

morgan at the end of the day 35 pounds for that polanik 50m is well, let's be honest a bit of a bargain for very little money and what might end up being for you a perfect javelin!

I am going to get the nemeth 40. thats more of a bargain and my club has a nemeth 50 so when i progress past the nemeth 40 theres a 50 right on the doorstep
