After debating with myself several times I have come to the conclusion that I want to sell both my nemeth 40m 600g javelin and my polanik 50m 600g javelin. I am willing to sell each for £35.
I also have a 600g iron ball which I do not use anymore and if anyone is interested I am willing to sell that. Everything is in good condition.

Well I have now sold the nemeth 40m javelin!
After speaking to the post office today they wouldnt post my javelin cuz the maximum length they will post is 1.50m so I had to contact parcel force thanks to James' advice. Anyways, if anyone is interested in my polanik the price is £47.99 due to the delivery charge.

Dear Robyn, how much for the Polanik and ball if I can come to Wrexham and collect them ?
Incidentally, tell me this doesn't mean you're giving up, please ?

Dear Robyn, how much for the Polanik and ball if I can come to Wrexham and collect them ? Incidentally, tell me this doesn't mean you're giving up, please ? I dont mind bargening, I got the ball for £6 that was 2 yrs a go so would probably say if you came up to collect them £37 for both. I probably have given the impression that i'm giving up with me selling and not competing as early as usual, but thats not the case at all. Ive got 2 really nice javelins I throw in training and they have been flying nicely. I'm not giving up, infact ive been training really hard this year both conditionally and technically and my training has been set out differently compared to last year and as a result ive decided to open up later with my first comp on 2nd May at Sport City in the Northern League .The main reason i'm selling is because ive been accepted at Leeds metropolitan uni for september and lucky to have been given a place at carneigie village which is like 1m away from the track so the jav run way if you like is my back garden I'm just selling some of my javs which I dont use and other things such as my ball for some extra cash for uni in Sept 2009.

That sounds like a perfectly reasonable price to me. Glad to hear all is going well for you. Can you PM me with a place to meet and we can arrange a time, a training night perhaps ?

Well thats it, im out of stock!! I have nothing else to sell as of now I have bought Tessa Sandersons book from a website which cost 85p second hand and i'm looking forward to reading it. She is my hero along with Jan Zelezny and I can not wait to read her book Very excited to see what its all about as ive seen documentaries, seen her olympic winning throw, have explored her website and other statistical sites, my room is covered in posters and articles of her, torkilsden, zelezny, menendez and spotakva, and ive also herd alot about her and how athletic she was. Excited is probably an understatemet!!

have you read the fatima book? i have a signed copy of it at home... To be honest the only sport books I have read are Paula Radcliffes which ive read 5 times!! I take it everywhere lmao! and the olympic book which I still havent finished but it has every single olympic games in it from 1896 to 2000 (got the book in 2003). It would be nice to read fatimas and to see what her books all about after all she did throw the javelin over 77m which was a wonderful throw to see, and ive seen her documentaries and ive read about the friction between her and Tessa.

it a good book and it's very humbling to see where she came from to make it as the best javelin thrower in the world albeit for a short period of time till petra felke broke the WR.
from a child who was left in a childrens home to being the best in the world via phyical and mental abuse by her mother and her mother's lover... it's a great story of determination to not let life get you down and to chase the dreams you have!

Yeah, I watched a documentary on ESPN, she was adopted wasnt she by her teacher (correct if wrong) Margret Whitbread and didnt she coach fatima aswell? I have the picture of Margret Whitbread, Fatima, Tessa and Wilf on my pc and its quite inspiring. I know there are stats for men on how well they can lift i.e bench etc and other exercises such as shot throws, would be nice to see some stats for women. Both fatima and tessa looked in incredible condition! Didnt fatima use to throw the shot 15m? and run a 200m in 25. something? Tessa was a great all round athlete too scoring 6100 + points in heptathlon and I Believe her javelin throw is still the furthest recorded in heptathlon history (despite it being with the old speck).

I got the book through today and ive finished it just now! A great read and really enjoyable Very inspiring and I really do applaud tessa for her achievements, they way she had picked herself up from failure after the 1980 Olympics and the injury troubles she had in 1982. A brilliant alround athlete and I believe she is the best thrower that the country has produced and the only British Olympic throwing champion. An awsome read!
