Hi guys,
I've had a very up and down season so far and I feel like its got to the point where I need to make a change before it ends up being a disaster before its really started to get going.
My competitions so far have been:
57m - Open meeting, March. Not too concerned at this stage as the weather really was bad that day).
63m - Open meeting April - Bigger warm ups when relaxed
60m - Javfest - Physically badly prepared
63m - County champs - Again bigger warm up throws
55m - Inter counties - Just threw badly, perhaps a little rushed in warm up but threw like I did 5 years ago.
So 5 comps, 2 of them within a metre of my PB and 3 pretty bad performances which to some extent I can attribute to bad preparation but more so down to throwing badly.
For the rest of the season I am just prioritising the BAL competitions unless by some fluke I get things right and throw 67 for the AAAs qualifier. I'm not going to do anything drastic before the first BAL match as its next weekend but then I will have a month to train for the next one and a month to train for the one after that. I am trying to decide where to put my priorities for that month and would appreciate people's ideas.
I think I can throw twice a week max and I feel that I will need to as what I am lacking most is consistency right now. I have also looked back at January when I was probably throwing my most consistently and furthest ever and I was doing a lot of physical work then and throwing once or twice a week. I am tempted to go to a slightly watered down version of this but am not sure.
Any words of wisdom appreciated.
