when i get to the plant of my thow i always collapse my left leg really bad, my right knee is almost scraping the floor its that bad,
my base is also too long aswell, if i do my full run up and fully steam it down the run way i usualy just tend to throw and stop, no follow through or anything.
im in my first year of u20's but i have only thrown 51.74m compared to my 56.16m as an u17 throwing the 800grm last season.
all my force from my run up is being lost through my left leg so there is no base to throw from and its just really fustrating that im doing so bad,
is there anything anyone can suggest that can help?
cheers

it's really hard to gauge what's going on with your throwing from your description, as some parts of what you are saying sound like really good aspects of a good throw! ie right knee drops, wide base, throwing with little need to recover - all sounds like good throwing. but obviously it isn't, i think there are other factors involved that lead to any problems you are having prior to the left leg issue, i'd wager there is quite abit of a pause and loss of momentum between impulse stride, final right foot contact and left foot plant - quite a common problem, but has massive efffects on the end result. the only thing i would suggest is that get a vid done of yourself and film yourself regularly ie every session and get some of them posted here - pictures tell a thousand words my good man!
