Not strictly training but seemed like the best place to put this.
I've been planning each winter for the last 5/6 years to run some 60m sprints indoors but surgery has always been in the way. Given that I am with 2 healthyish knees at the moment I fancy running a few, perhaps after christmas to see how I get on and more than anything to be able to compete off season.
Just wondered if anyone else does anything indoors and particularly how you get on with 60m?

i've never done one but zelezny's best was 6.9 seconds, mike allen i'm sure once told me he's done 6.85 or something like that, he has also done over 7m long jump.
most top men javelin throwers could do around 7 dead.
i always worked on if somebody could break 7 seconds for 60 then they'd manage to scrape a sub 11 100m.

Cheers Slinger - I was trying to set myself some sort of target for the winter. I'm thinking around 7 and a quarter seconds wouldn't be too sad. I think the biggest problem I might have is that I can't kneel down to start the race so may have to find a way around that!
Did do some 60s in training a few years ago with the sprint gruop and could beat them all to 30m then I seemed to go backwards!
I reckon the 7/11 conversion sounds about right. Also - some impressive performances from Mike there! 6.85 is quicker than MLF started the season last year!

I was thinking about doing some indoor 60m sprints this year! I might do some in Deeside if they have indoor comps as it's only 30 mins away so will be good if I can get some in! if not I do alot in training anyway so! My best training times for short distances are:- 30m 4.14s 50m 6.50s 60m 8.1s but as the distance increases my times are poor like my 100m pb is 14s, saying that I did fall at the line so might have been a 13.8 or just under !
