Ok mate that sounds like a plan then, it will give you a good base to build off for the power cycle, which will then take 8-12 weeks. When is your first competition and what are the dates of you competitions of importance? It doesn't matter if your winter training overlaps the season a bit just so long as you are in peak shape by the time of the big comps.
Your body fat and weight stats are testament to how well you are adapting and its worthwhile keeping and eye on them as you train. The first time i followed a program like this i didn't eat enough and ended up dropping below 80kgs with very low body fat and started to get over trained too. (excessive heart rate and high body temp with poor sleep patterns) Just watch that you don't start to develop those type of symptoms, make sure you consume enough vitamin and protein rich foods after training. You might feel a little over trained by week 3 of each cycle but that is fine just so long as you are recovered by the end of easy week.
Ok thats all for now, happy training matey and i'm glad you are falling into the rhythm of these cycles.
btw how is the shoulder now? better or do you need some new prehab exercises???

yeah for sure, thats a plan. A brilliant brilliant plan that is going to work. hehe.;D
The first competition and the rest of the dates aint confirmed by the association here yet. Its abit messy this year because here, in singapore, theres lots of changing and shifting of structures and competitions respectively. But, the major ones remained. My aim is to be able to represent my country again for Asian Juniors Championship this year. The competition is in early June, if i'm not wrong.
Yes, its the third week, and i am feeling a little over trained like you mentioned. I start to develop symptoms like that, and not able to sleep well in getting me fustrated. Trying to keep my temper down and keep calm. For sure, its a good lesson to learn from. I am starting to be concern about not eating enough this few days. I am feeling kinda weak, perhaps due to the 3rd week of training. Eating alot now! hehehe! loving it! ;D
Yup, the shoulder is good now. Still able to maintain flexibilty, but getting stronger.
For technically, i'm now trying to note myself to get into the favorable position so that i can channel rightful power through. Is that enough?

More good work here lad, and i find myself impressed again! I've added a few comments to the vids in youtube for your interest. I would like to see yout overhead shot throws next , (soccer style) overhead forwards with 2 or 3kg and backwards with 4kg. Keep up the great work, and paste up your latest test results when you have time.

wez, quick Q! when you guys do soccer throws with a shot as a test do you do them from feet together arched back style or from steps?

i dont know about others, Slinger. Never raised that question up to wez either. But i do it with a step, just like from impulse.

soccer throw goes from feet together driving off a board in the same way as SLJ except you can use the stop board of a shot circle or something similar. If you are coming in from sideways like from impulse stride then its more like a swanbeck swing.
Using a step or two is another good exercise to practise but maybe closer to the season and with a light implement eg not 4kg or above but theres no real difference in my mind in terms of specificity.

i do it soccer style like jiunlin has been doing ie from an impulse. main thing for me is to let the bodyweight transfer from right hand side INTO the block and let the upper body recoil from the reaction of the block. it's good, i enjoy it. When i was playing football my throwins were pretty good and i used to take all of them when up in the opponents half......hhmmmm wonder if i could coach premier league footballers to do the same and maybe make the throw in a deadly weapon!? - dragon's den beckons.....

???Ok just to clear things up Jiunlin, when it says in your program over head shot forwards that is the soccer style throw with feet together from standing. When it says swanbeck swing you approach sideways on from impulse stride and please feel free to do the same approach with hip driving chest pass.
The one i would like you to measure for the tests is the standing soccer throw with feet together.
I hope you are enjoying rest week.

isn't swanbeck a side on two arm standing throw, where the ball is rotated down and round behind you? all pics i have seen illustrating this movement show it a standing throw.....getting confused now!

hehehe.... when you have trained alone for as long as i have the names of exercises all merge into one, plus i've probably adapted techniques slightly for specificity. In my world a swanbeck is a 2 handed throw where you are side-on drawing the ball around your throwing side, driving the hip and delivering over the plant leg. I've never exaggerated the draw around so i bend over! just so that the ball gets around to the throw position. So coming in off a couple of steps is not a problem. It also creates a better stretch reflex and block. Correct me if i'm wrong but a soccer throw is also 2 handed and usually unless its a long throwin for a goal attempt the player does stand with feet together and front on. At the end of the day, theres not alot of difference
