I have started negotiations with Bedford and County AC about hiring the venue for saturday 14th of April 2007
There are a few financial negotiations to discuss with the management of BaCAC about the venue to overcome before anymore work on the Festival can commence
Updates will be announced ASAP

Good choice of venue. Such a shame we have such a restricted choice of dates.

Hi Sam,
Have had a couple of enquiries about the details of JF IV, especially the date.
I know you're working on it and that you'll post the details as soon as you can, meantime is there a chance that we can run this thread for the details on the main page?
Cheers
Jezza
PS Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

Current update is that Bedford are happy to help out they are just trying to come up with a way to raise money
there are a few other issues to iron out and myself and james will be meeting them in the next few weeks to go over things

yep! ;D
i'll explain......
i work 5 days a week, my days off are a working day [monday - saturday] and of course sunday.
my day off is a rolling one, so for example my day off this week was friday, next week it is saturday etc etc
knowing this means working out future days off is easy.
my day off for the week of javfest is the friday before the saturday, which of course i'd be working! so ah well nevermind.

well getting someone to swap their saturday is nigh on impossible as of course when you have a saturday off, you get the following monday too due to the rolling effect onto the next week and with our job being physically tough people love having a proper weekend and actually having the time to go out and do something or go away somewhere. I have juts had to take a days holiday for a saturday in march for my regional javelin squad days and that's from the 2008 list! - just don't tewll any other staff, as it means i've gone over my allowance for 2007. At the end of the day saturdays are a pain in the arse for me, so it looks like this time will have to missed, unless i can work some miracle, i'll work on it.

Latest news is...
it will not be on the 14th as UKA have booked the whole stadium out for a coaches course. grrr
we are now looking at some other dates in april (probably marathon weekend) or even in May.
We also have a supprise for you all and will be able to announce it when the venue is confirmed
