Like the look of the Javelin run up Chris. It's 'rubbery and red'.

i'm just used to certain things when i warm up in competitions, it somehow wouldn't feel right or i should say like i was going to be involved in a competition if i had to warm up on an outdoor track or fields surrounding - i can't remember the last time i had to warm up outside tbh........i probably sound like a right tart! ;D
having a place to warm up indoors where you can do run ups, jog, short sprints, ball throws, drills blah blah is important for me, as it kind of sets the mind frame for, i only ever warm up indoor when doing a competition, so it is kind of a trigger to switch on to comp mode i guess.
looks a good idea however having a separate multi lane straight running parallel with the main track.
maybe something i'll have to think around though...

I am finding out if we can have the indoor sportshall for the warmup, so that will be more than adequate. As for a stand....sit on the grass...and if it rains watch from inside the club house.....its only one of my Javelin Throws from the run up!

We are also some way into getting a new purpose built indoor facility next to our clubhouse. This will be a Godsend for us for obvious reasons indoor training can bring!
I will see if we can post up some details of this.

the type of tartan used looks to be the proper sort aswell from those close up pics chris - i think the correct name for this type is polytan, can you confirm it isn't the type where they kind of put a lose layer of rubber pebbledash [is the best way i can describe it] over a sticky layer for it to stick, this is terrible and any guys who throw at bury st edmunds will, or should know this is the type of track you have [if it's the same track used at the 1999 english schools'?] this type of track imo is terrible, as it's like throwing on gravel, the loose scree of rubber are just like small pebbles under foot and very slippy at plant, often my left foot slips on this type of track and tbh any track i go to and if it's this stuff i simply won't bother throwing on it!
chris, are there any regular directions with wind etc?

Its the proper stuff Phil, no the screened surface. Also the trck feels spongy underfoot. I will get back to you with the winds etc!
