very interesting technique- wonder how far he threw- I see that James was in disguise in the background of some of the photo's- Nice stubble-

using them as a before and after pic - nah not too wide at all, base width should be comparitive to the athlete's height by most reckoning, these pictures show some flaws in technique mainly stemming from what's happening on the ground - the right foot isn't really turning out prior to the left planting therefore not causing much seperation [it's hard to tell, really from these pics tbh....] of the throwing hip and shoulder - if you look from the pics it would seem that both the hips and upper body are used pretty much at the same time, often if this happens the left side gets chucked away - you can see a great deal of sepeartion of the javelin from point to his head, which is a sure sign of throwing the left side away.
the first word that came to mind when looking at these pics were - shorts!!! - i want some of those babies tehehe! nah, seriously the word "rushed" springs to mind.
the throw needs to be sequenced, it isn't a whole body one go movement, it has an order and a timing - a kinetic chain.......learn the correct sequence and most things will sort themselves out.
60m as a youngster with the 8 like that shows good promise, certainly talent there.

hi im the guy with the shorts i have been reading what people have said about my technique and what is wrong with it, (in my defence i had a problem with my right knee just under the cap which did seem to be a bit of a problem) anyway you have said what is wrong with it and i think i understand it all, but how do i improve/correct the things that are wrong? my hotmail is tootybananasniffer@hotmail.com if someone wud contact me about my technique or any questions please thanks ;D
