Not too sure about the details of the throw and it is a clear foul by 1-2m but apparently it was measured at 94.29m which is still huge given the foul. His 90m lob last year was very much in the same form - very solid left and a very low body position. Video is here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hriLy3nNSYAfter watching it through a number of times very slowly the thing that stands out to me most is how soft his right foot is on his penultimate step almost giving the impression that he hops from his left onto the left with the right just giving a little guidance and obviously work of the hip in between.

There is some very impressive footwork going on there, its like he bounds on every stride. From that side view it looks rather alot like Zeleznys world record lob from the actual positions he hits.

.....get real!!! nobody has feet as good as jan did, of course i don't have any biomechanical data of vasilvekis but during the 1995 WC's jan worked his right foot from contact through to it striking fully pretty much twice as quick as anybody else present in that WC's and one of the other medalists had already at that time thrown further than vasilvekis has ever done and the other medalist eventually did throw further than vasilvekis has ever done. jan's best 100 throws average out at over 90m........vasilvekis has done it once, as has breaux greer...tero pitkamaki 4 times and andreas thorkildsen only 3 times..........and they are our great superstars of today!!! ........jan zelezny has never looked better imho...... but certainly this year's mens javelin looks to be a good top enjd standard in that it's close and to have 4 men or maybe more??? over 90 would be superb and if we get 5 then that'll be a first ever........ and for the women.....oh yes, come on gold!!!!
