I know we have discussed this mate on the phone, and the more I see it the more I feel as though I am right in what I said.
I don't want to comment too much as we can chat about it at the weekend.
He has a huge amount of width on the floor, almost too much, but it the way that he arrives at his left that will lead to the improvements! At the end of the day, if he planted his left sideways, but was still up and back, the Jav would still jump out!
However, this has many implications in terms of injury. It would be interesting to see a longitudinal view of this throw. I don't want to pass conjecture as to what it might look like, but I have a fair idea of what it might be.
He is ahead of himself i.e. his hip doesn't strike in and up before his shoulder hits the spear. Its so complicated, but that is what will give him more consistency with his left at strike.
It looks as though he is back on it as his right lands ahead of him, but if his hip doesn't engage straight away, then his centre of mass quickly moves past his hip before any meaningful "twang" is created. As you know mate we are talking fractions. I am pretty sure i know how to address this, but i want to see a rear view of the throw to be sure.
That being said....for a 14 year old i have never seen a better technical thrower, perhaps equal to Clifton Green at that age. If Mike can get that hip firing in and up, then he will throw 60m. Simple as that. Its not a huge jump when someone actually has that ability.

Hi Phil,
Good extention of the legs coming into the throw, however, he has a lazy last cross over, i.e. he drops into it and his left arm is too high IMO.
Frame 7, left arm arguably too high causing the right to drop.
frame 8 drops into the throw rather than drive into it IMO covers alot of group by popping in, but seems to be a little heavy on his right foot whihc looks very frontal on landing.
Frame 9 left foot plant, right arm low and ready to strike from a low position and possible elbow injury hazzard in the future and shoulder later on in his career. The next frame doesn't show the hip strike position or where his arm is in relation to the hip strike.
Frame 10 seem a little ahead of himself in the throw and high release angle
Frame 11 - releases over his left foot, but 50 -60 degree release angle and pulling down the tail rather than clean and through the point.
Frame 12 can see the jav tailing already. Hips seem to be rising through the throw whihc is good, but the throw doesn't look too bad for 13.
However, he looks like a big lad for 13! I tend to work on hitting the jav through the point, allignment and how to achieve it. Overall not bad overall, just think he needs to adjust his sight line and left shoulder lower and raise the right slightly and he'll hit it cleaner. Good use of the legs and creates alot of range downstairs, couple with similar range uipstaros and he'll not just throw far - but real far!
Basics look fine but needs a little tidying.
