Welcome Tristan
Do you have a coach?
SamC is a coach in Redditch he is pretty good and would definately get you over the 50m barrier. send him an Instant Message and see what you guys can come up with.
I think that he is on holiday at the moment or is going away soon so be prepared to wait a bit...otherwise keep coming back to gettips off BeePee and the others on here

Welcome Tristan nice to have you aboard. I can only repeat Sams advice and tell you that you need a coach who will help get you the extra 3 mtrs that you need for the English schools championships later in July. An experienced coach is another pair of watching eyes who has a sort of video recorder inside their head which allows them to record you as you throw and then either freeze the action at some point or replay it back in their head and analyse it to find technical flaws that show up and believe me you will have some. This where the extra distance will come from. Also a coach is a "mate" who will support you through good or bad and will be there for you when you need them so get in touch with Sam C through this forum and do yourself a favour. By the way I am a "Jurassic" coach according to my lot up here in the North, "swines" they are, good job they keep me in coffee!!. If you need to know anything just ask cos there is a wealth of talent and info on this forum.

well i have just had my trials and i was very very disapointed my first throw was approx 30-35mtrs but i was 1/2 inch over the line so it was a no throw. my second i got 30 mtrs. my third i tried to pull my technique 2gether faster than i have ever done it but i ended up on the floor with a twisted ankle no throw at 28mtrs wen i fell. i came third bcus of the rich boys turned up from solihull school and were throwing 40 meters without effort.and he was 18 so i wasnt bothered as i am 15. thx cater i think we have talked before in the old forum my name was Phantom88 or something like that.i am considering turning up to one of your practises..

yeah i think i recognise that name...if you do want to come over to Redditch you are more than welcome as at present i havent really got anyone to coach. My discus thrower is moving back to norwich and my javelin thrower turns up once in a blue moon (if and when he can be bothered) Just let me know what nights you want to come and we can sort it out. best to email me jav_champ@blueyonder.co.uk to sort it out training nights at Redditch are: Tuesday 6:30 - 8 and Thursday 6:30 - 8 Im usually down the track for about 6pm. if you need directions to the track let me know. Hope to hear from you soon Sam C P.S This goes for anyone in the worcestershire area, if you are interested in joing me for some coaching just let me know my clubs name is Bromsgrove and Redditch A. C. the clubs web site is 147.188.37.15/brac. although the club is a 2 track club the majority of coaches are based at the Abbey Stadium in Redditch. Please contact me before turning up though i can be prepared lol
