I just wondered if any of you experience the same thing that we seem to in Essex every year. Whenever I look through the county championship results nationwide it seems like it is possible to win 90% of the meets with a 55m throw yet if you were to throw 55m in Essex you would not be guaranteed to make the cut if everyone was present. Two years ago I threw 57m and came 6th overall.
What would have won your county champs last year?
If I remember rightly, 1st and 2nd in Essex both threw 64m last year and 3rd and 4th were both around 60m.

worcester county champs....for past 7 years ive come in either 1st or 2nd with throws between 48m-53m

aaarrrggghhhh i'm bloody moving to worcester In Essex you have got Dan Carter PB of 73m Paul Cooper PB of 67m Dave Sketchley PB of 66m John Lundman PB of 65m Paul Howard PB of 61m Alex Gibson PB of 60m James Everard PB of 57m John Harvey PB of 56m SAM HARRISON PB OF 52.80m Matt Anderson PB of 51m Plus others that are in the high 40m range  |

Thats what you want, high standard competitions....there more likey to bring the best out of you. In Herts we got three 60m+ throwers, NMack usually goes home with the gold, but i'm on ur tail this year Neil.....no pressure though as your not openin till the countys, even though you did open up with 70m last year.  |

Was in suffolk last year and it was won with 69m, 2nd was 46m. Thats why I enjoy the inter counties, most of the top guys compete and it is usually a good comp. I have a feeling in my bones that it could need an 80m throw to win it this year.

As the counties are getting closer... I start thinking about who will be entering.
I have just heard that someone is going to throw in another county champs because he is scared he might get beaten again!
I wonder who that could be? ;D
