Second comp this year, ever in fact, and a second PB ! 38.14 at the Pendle open.... well happy !
pipped for a second week running though by Ben Ambler of Bingley with 38.95 to win it. Poor turn out for senior men... it was just us 2 !

The turn up at Havering was good, good to see some of the guys from the site/club. I dont know what the hell happened to me though .... i threw from the spike mark..... ended up with 59.75m, if i would have used the other 3/4 metres of the runway i would be celebrating a new p.b now ....but hey its the best i've opened with its March, so lots more to come.

Nice to see that Athletics is still alive! A good turn out today for the javelin event. Ant Lovett obviously did not want to set a PB so early in the season so he threw his first throw off the runway at Thuruck and still manage a reasonable distance. Sam you must keep the boy 222 throwing as he has a lot of potential. My advice for him would be let him throw, dont over coach him, keep his arm safe by getting him to come over the top of his throw and see what happens!

I threw 31.09m & was recorded as 7th of the senior men. I would have preferred to be recorded as 1st >40 vet men but I guess as I was the only one I shouldn't complain. My PB is 35.63m & have a target of 40m+, so I think 31.09m wasn't too bad a start. There is an open at my club (Herts Phoenix) on 9th April (Good friday) & I hope to improve then. John(Woff) helps me a lot & has given me stuff to work on & (thanks John).
Nice to see so many there & get the info about this site - keep up the good work!!

Well I also threw at Havering. I threw just over 55m which wasn't bad since it is only the second time I've picked the jav up since last August.
I have to agree that Mr Lovett could have been approaching 64/65m if he hadn't have thrown from half way down the runway!
I'll be adding the results of the meeting to the site later on.
