Ok today I threw really well, except it was classed as a no throw when clearly it was... and it didn't just happen to me either. I appealed at the end and they really came across as they didn't care... But I was just wondering what should I do if it happens again, as it's pretty annoying as everyone said it was a throw except 2 of them....

Firstly, always be polite. In most competitions you are in people are giving up their spare time to officiate. In some cases, the officials will have very little training before they are sent out!
Can I ask why you thought it was a throw and why it was adjudged to be a no throw?
If you are certain it is a throw, then you can ask for it to marked and measured. You can also ask for the referee to be called over. The first might be refused, but the second should not.
It is important that any disputes re no throws are settled at the time as the referee is in a difficult enough position and will rarely contradict the match officials unless there is overwhelming evidence.
Now, if you are throwing a 600g javelin and it is landing flat, the best way it to completely avoid this situation and adjust your technique so it doesn't land flat. A bit harsh a suggestion? Perhaps, but the only certain way. My throws often land flat and there are times I've been given a no throw that I don't believe was, however, I've learned to shrug it off (kind of) and get on with making the next throw better.

I suppose when you are out there throwing sometimes you can get annoyed!!!!
For me in the AAA 2005 my first round throw was massive! it was around the 39m mark and for an U15 that wasnt to bad. The field official gave it a white flag and I was ok on the line. I turned my back and waved to my dad in delight! when I turned my back it was given a red flag! I do not understand that! I am not sure why that happened! the officals went out to measure it just before I turned my back, however, it still remains a mystery!
I have also had some throws measured short!
I do realise that the officials are giving up there free time and some are more qualified than others so they have to be respected! I suppose everyone blames the officials! like the referee in football match! If a decision has been made it has been made and usually you can't do anything about it!
And yeah Tez it is annoying!!! Something everyone has to deal with!
