It's gettin to that time of year when it's less than a month to most WWT camps and less than two months to when some people start to throw!!!
What are the main things people are focusing on as we get towards the season??
Any changes in trg programmes/reps etc??
I now know where i'm at technically after lobbing with Carolyn Franks this weekend and will help my buildup a lot!!

Made a decision a while back to do less open comps pre-season than I did last year. Last week I decided, judging on the way I am feeling, throwing, lifting etc that I would do one comp in March, two in April and then the counties will be my next comp in May.
Going to do my first comp in Chelmsford on the 22nd March, so just under 3 weeks from now. Will then hopefully throw at JavFest (MK) and the first LICC match at the end of April at Copthall Barnet.
Will still try and throw twice a week but will definitely bring the volume down, especially at the weekends since I am getting all sorts of elbow trouble at the moment. Refined the number of lifts I am doing already and volume is lower too.

you'll be there a jam packed AAA's will be the order, tough to make top 8......being realistic 69m somewhere i think will make cut. 69m at birmingham is a good throw tbh! 72m medaled in 2007, 75m and deffo medal imo, maybe more like 74m. 80m flat, you'll be taking home a gold medal, though it will probably only take 77m or so to do it imo.....

i have a sneaky feeling that, weather permitting, it will be very very exciting this year at the senior mens and senior women's AAA's

pics/vids??? i've been working on setting everything up at the beginning of the throw better, so point down hand high etc and for me personally my head tips away so i've been trying to keep it straight as that has been the cause of my left side dissapearing lol
block has come on a lot as has my left side causing me to have something to work against!!
carolyn was really pleased with how i've come on since i last saw her which did a lot for my confidence!
took everyhthing Carolyn saidto me on sunday into the throwing session today and threw a PB in and out of competition so I can';t complain!!
in the past i've been notorious for bantering about distances thrown in trg, whereas this yr i hav'nt and kept my mouth shut lol
although i thought i'd post this up this time as today has given me such a boost prior to going away on WWT and the season!! I've worked really hard this winter to correct my inadequecies and improve dramatically to where i believe i should be and touchwood it's working!!

How are people getting on now? More people planning to open up their season soon? I hope a lot of people start of well at JavFest!
For me, I started 4 weeks ago in a local open in pretty bad conditions and threw a well below par 57m but I found it useful to get out there and test out the run up and get back to preparing for a compa again. Second comp was better, still raining but nice and calm winds and threw 63 - again a useful exercise and got some good feelings and thoughts from my throwing, particularly in warm up.
Next stop is JavFest for me, then maybe one more open before the counties where I have never picked up a gold medal in the jav before!! Looks like it will be tough again in the seniors with Sketch and Lundman so hope its a good comp and I can throw a PB at least.
