Well I'm in a bit of a pickle... I have the AAA's indoors this weekend (Sunday) and have been hoping to do well. ;D Sounds good yeah? Just one problem, I've not been ill for months now and just when I need it least I've caught a really bad cold. All stuffed up coughing everywhere I'm a wreck I've been sniffing Olbas oil a plenty and taken some of that dreadful Buttercup medicine but I wondered if anyone knew any quick methods to get better. I'm missing school today and tomorrow and not training tomorrow but I want to gain my strength for the weekend and I just feel drained =[ Thanks

Whatever medication you take, do remember to check it won't fall foul of any drugs test. Linkie

not that you would be likely to get drugs tested imo from my experience.

Vitamin C is good for putting you back on the straight and narrow, buy yourself a couple of cartons of Orange juice or something similar and theres no harm in putting a whole litre of that away per day. Theres also some evidence to suggest that onions and garlic are good for beating colds too. My favourite cure when i'm down is to knock up a super dooper stew with all sorts of root vegtables and beef, lob in some meat stock, 2 onions and a whole bulb of garlic and slurp it down with the aid of some nice garlic bread to boot. Its never failed to pick me up yet! Hope you feel better soon, being ill is rubbish

Basically you need to let your immune system recover and then boost it.
Every time you go out and train you will damage your immune system again so resist the temptation, the rest will do you good.
As Wez said Vit C does a great job - try and get some slow release tablets you can put in your drink or something they are effective IMO.
Then when it comes to the comp - do everything can to perk yourself up - for Slinger (and me) caffeine does the trick - for you maybe the same or something like chocolate or lucozade. Anything that leaves you feeling full of beans.
Then make sure you well hydrated and give it some welly. But don't putt too much further than you have already or you'll be ditching the jav and we don't want that happening!!

And you don't know how my javelin is going And I won't be quitting javelin any time soon! But I am in a bit of a pickle... :s I was going to quit shot after this year but now I don't know what to do we'll have to see how discus is going lol

;Dyou don't have to do all three events at every meeting you do!
you'll probably find you'll do more and more of one of the events anyway depending upon which you like most and from my experience and reality of it tbh comes down to which of the events you are better at and get most success from.
