Saturday 30th of April and Sam is looking good Sunday 1st of May and sam has injured his elbow playing football Monday 2nd May and sam has either torn or seriouslypulled/strained his groin/lower abdomen half way down the runway 2 steps into his cross steps..
I speak as a second person here as i don't feel part of my body anymore. I have given up on it...it just keeps letting me down. a week and a half ago i was throwing 54m in training...i have a photo to prove it... and now i can barely walk.
I'm guessing i will be out for the next month...so there goes my first league match and the county champs... I sometimes wonder if i am in the right...AARRGGHH i just sneezed and it hurt so much.. I sometimes wonder if i am in th right sport...maybe tiddly winks is looking for a new champion...

i seem to fall apart, alot. i feel terrible, as ive basicaly had the whole season out, but there is nothing i can do, noting (especialy my back.shoulder.elbow). Its wearing me out. I've had so long out. But it is getting me nowhere but behind. I may aswell carry on through the pain. at least then ill be doing what i love. and the thing is, when i sotp using my arms, or legs, it stops everything. i do hockey cricket javeiln, netball, all for county. and, it really gets me down, I feel like im lettin gmyself down, and i have all season, cos i can't do anything. physio says its my back, pushing ym shoulder out of place, which is then trapping nerves, tendons, tissues and the likes, and not to throw. but nothings happening, getting no better, so what now? season out hasn't worked. Do I carry on throwing? Help me...

Well willow from the description that you give of back/shoulder/elbow it sounds like a classic case of mis alignment through bad technique.
It also sounds as though your physio is doing a guessing game and is clutching at short straws sooo what do you do?
Firstly try to get a video up on the forum of you throwing and maybe from two different angles, ie, side and rear and then it might become obvious why you are hurting so much and save you a lot of grief. If you cannot do this then send a vid via e mail to James who will most likely do it for you.
I have no idea if you have a coach or not, but it does sound as though it is technique to blame rather than an inherent weakness. If the video shows technique to not be culprit then at least you will be able to take it on from there and get better advise to get the thing sorted but first things first? get a video up here.

Willow, the back may be an alignment issue, but as beepee said, shoulder and elbow will be technique. What you need is a sports screening (I'll get the plug in early). If you spend that much time on so many sports, it will take toll on your body. Would you mind saying how old you are? A bit of recovery time may be an idea, a period solely focusing on flexibility and alignment work for about 3-4 weeks that can fit in at the end of the season. Otherwise, the problems can last and last. Coaches should sympathize and let you have a break because eventually they'll have a more dependable athlete. Get a video on here so beepee can sort you out to stop anything coming back!

chris, willow is 15 or 16 now aren't you? anyway, go and get your self checked out by chris actually he'll do it for nothing, well just a good report to all your fellow club athletes will do! i'm convinced like Beepee says that some physio's just play pin the tail on the donkey game and guess things.......so you must see someone who knows their stuff and in particular have a background of jav knowledge *enter chris!* to post a vid of yourslef you can do it yourself or if like me you are a beginner at this computer buisness then send the tape to James [the moderator's] house and he'll do the donkey work! keep your chin up!

Yeah, I'm 15 now. Have thrown once this season, only got 30, am ranked quite high up tho for a lower age U17. Neil McLennen is my coach, as is his dad, John. I don't think I have a poor technique, according to Mack, its one of my stronger parts. Perhaps it is from a few seasons ago, when i started, and had no coaching? Thanks guys, you're being really helpfull. I'll see what I can do about this video (and try to to stack like Neil did!!).

Well if Neil is coaching you then you are in good hands and he would certainly know if it was down to technique or not so it seems that the problem is down to something out of kilter.
Best see chris (bigc) if you can and get to the root of the problem and get back on the road to doing what you like best. At least he will be able to tell you what is causing the problem. Good luck and keep the chin up meantime.
