Ok well a couple of the coaches at my club are soon to do the coaching session assesment part of their level 2, and they have been talking about it to me and are a bit in the dark as to what actually is going to be assesed, is it content, communication, coaching skills etc
So for some reason I got asked if I could find anything out for them as a guide to what they should be looking at, so if anyone could give a bit more of a specific guide it would be appreciated
Cheers

Pottsy - they will be looking for how the individual communicates to an individual and how they embrace the various coaching skills and techniques. They will need to use the various coaching buzz words. As for content - yes they will be interested but they will not be expecting a 'wilf paish font of all knowledge' type session, instead they will be looking for relevance, suitability to the age range and training age. Best advice is for them to keep it simple, interesting and varied.

Ok a few essential key points they will be looking for:-
Safety - is the session safe? Appropriate equipment? etc
Personal apperance manner - dress appropriatly, how you speak to the group, watching etc eg not hands in pockets
Coaching ability - linked to the coaching bugs covered on level 1 and level 2 core ie giving demonstartion, instruction and explanation, organisation, feedback etc.
Technical content - as mentioned, your not expected to know it all but should be able to give basic correct and effect technical points.
Logbook - going through the log book checking it completed correctly and asking questions regarding it.
Q&A - Dont worry about this, its just asking questions to pull out any of the key competancies you may not have shown in the practical.
Good Luck
