Hi All, Please see the link below to access the presnentations given at the recent UKA Rover Combined Events Conference. This includes a Jave workshop by David Ottley. www.ukathletics.net/vsite/vnavsite/page/directory/0,10853,4854-156624-173840-nav-list,00.html Flicking through it most of it seems common sense stuff although one comment had me thinking. Listed in the final comments "7-9 strides is not a full run-up"I can see why it could be argued that 7 isnt really a full approach but more of a progression. I just wonder why he put down 9 strides too. I was taught that 9 strudes is often a suitable run-up especially for female throwers. It allows for build up of speed without losing control or generally having the fatal flaw of slowing down at the finish. If memory serves me correctly Tessa and /or fatima used 9 strides! Just after some views
