throwing overweight anything is beneficial - it aids certain technical things and also is excellent for specific strength work..........wouldn't buy one though! - get some lead tape, the stuff that goes on windows - hardwear shops should sell the stuff and then put equal amounts spiralling either side of the grip then use some insulation tape to keep it better in place and bingo - you have an overweight javelin - and best of all you can vary it = 850, 900 1000g etc

....rob, no problemo! i think i said earlier the lead tape is adhesive backed but comes off during flight! so a spot of insulation tape is a must!!!!! if you were to buy a javelin which is 'not normal' then an underweight implement would be the one to go for - but i know you have some 6's and 7's so i'd save the cash and put it to better use, yes there are specific 700g '800' spec javs but throwing light/heavy balls, shots, javs, d balls, med balls and other implements will suffice.......on other implements i've just aquired a 'lump of finnish metal' off lasher - it's only what i can describe as a baton and it weighs around 850g and it's from finland! - so it must be good!!!!!!
