aloo ssssity cabs ! (this will make no sense to people who have not been to stoke!)
good to see a stokey on here eggbert... i lived in stoke for 5 years. ive always used bourne sports for all my cricket stuff and i found that if you ask them for a student discount or club athlete discount they can often do something to help out. they are also quite good at contacting suppliers for rare items or designs etc so give them a go

Where abouts in stoke were you from and bournes are ok to get things from he employs most of stokes athletes just a little high on the pricing of items but as you say a bit of discount is always a bonus just tell him you have been looking at prices from other suppliers

Went to uni from 96 to 01. lived in the halls just by the a50 in first year (bourne sports side right of civic centre if you facing civic centre) then more into the centre of stoke nearer bournes then over to leak road. if you know keanes sarnie shop... amazing place that sells a full fry up in a baguette for a few quid... i was in the house next door (accross from car place) i used to get up with minging hanover and walk approx 10m to my breakfast... ah those were the days. also lived up near festival park for a bit... still go back everynow and again to visit some culture.... my mate is the landlord at the terrace... and i have a membership card for st1 that needs using !!!!!

What makes a javelin boot a truly great boot? Why is adidas star 2000jav boot such a great boot?

.....not seen the blue adidas boot, so can't really comment, though i have had some of the older boots and i didn't really like them - either too rigid or too much like a boot and therefore clumpy, mick hill was sponsered by them and he chose to wear their high jump shoes instead!!!!! for me a great shoe is one that allows the spikes in the left foot to 'dig in' early i.e. spike plate not too far forward [like nike zoom] to be flexible enough for it to allow a toe oriented feet contacts and most importantly to be as light and unhindering as possible.......my favourite is the reebok [blue and yellow] ones - almost like running spikes but with spikes in the heel, also in 1997 i wore a pair of mizuno 'shoes' not boots and they were fantastic.
