here's an excellent link to an american javelin forum. its a relatively old thread, the discussion was about a year ago. but in it some of the top ranking elite throwers in th US such as breaux greer debate the best way to increase run ups and some of there comments illustrate the importance of getting the technique right before trying to fly down the runway.... and for the rest of us an interesting insight into why breaux greer got an injured elbow and disapeered for a while.... he was training with a 1500g jav ! and still hasnt recovered he's just back to full run -up distances in the high 80's this season... he threw 85 of 5 steps before the injury happy reading www.worldjavelin.com//ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=000020

cool john.. i'll be taking a look at them sometime soon... had a look at the Breaux article hen it was posted.. i have thrown te 900g jav and i thought that that was heavy!! my 5 step throws last season were about 48m and my run-up throw was 52m my throws at the moment are all pants as there is too much pain in my arm...
