69m is the standard set. He hasn't done it yet and has basically run out of time although i am certain he will have thrown further than that by the end of the season. He had not trained for 2 weeks leading into the nationals to recover from a torn quad and was not a certainty to have thrown at the southerns yet threw a pb 67.14m! His quad is about 95% now so hopefully he'll be able to come in a lot faster in the coming competitions. We have got to look long term. He has not had a great few seasons with injuries. Our initial target is the 2010 commonwealth games.. Watch this space!

Sam, shame the below (from UKA Website) didn't apply to Bonne as I understand he still has another year as a Junior! Although perhaps the Top 8 criteria was what set him apart.
A number of personal coaches asked us to make allowances for several mitigating factors in selection – namely the unusually short season, the weather conditions at Bedford and the early entry deadline required by the IAAF removing the second wave of selections – therefore we have also considered a number of athletes who have achieved the lower IAAF qualification standard.
“As a result some athletes have been selected with IAAF standards where they have consistently achieved this mark, and where their performance profile matches the philosophy of the selection policy – namely the ability to finish in the top eight at the World Juniors, and the ability to take the experience and turn junior potential into senior potential.
