im off to one if not both of these events, does anyone know which the likely ends that will be thrown from for crystal palace and gateshead ?

There usually thrown from the same end at both venues, but which end there called i dont have a clue...best bet would be to get a spot right in the middle, an also it could be down to the wind on the day as they both have run-ways on either side.

greer goes BIIIIG in bergen. ive not got a link to the official result yet but just watched the golden league meet from bergen and greer won with a new pb and broke tom putkys american record with 87.39. things keep hotting up for athens !
makarov in second i think at around 86m, ivanof 3rd and a new face i didnt recognise also over 85m. neiland came 8th with about 75. will post the official results when available

Zelezny out of Gateshead Olympic javelin champion Jan Zelezny has withdrawn from Sunday's Norwich Union British Grand Prix at Gateshead because of a heavy cold. The world-record holder, who is chasing a fourth gold at Athens, would have faced British arch-rival Steve Backley.
Zelezny said: "I like the British meetings very much so I'm really sorry not be able to compete there.
"When I'm better I'll reconsider my schedule. I think I still would need one more competition before Athens."
