what make and model javelins do you all use, im interested in seeing who has what and how far they are throwing them. ive just bought a nemeth standard 70m but my pb is only 35m, only thown once and its way way way better than the nordic 50m trainers we use and 40m is only a good days weather and throwing away.

The nemeth standard 70m is a good spear,I found them easy to flight in bad winds, I managed to get one over 63m once so they cant be that bad. I only throw nemeths, best spears you can buy.

I've got a:
OTE Tailwind Sandvik Champ Nordic Carbon Champ Nordic Airglider
My sandvik is turned into a 1k jav, the carbon I find is too stiff but the airglider is good in all conditions, all my best throws have come from it. The picture (that was) on the left are the 3 javs that won the worlds last year: GOLD - Sergey Makarov, RUS - 85,44 - Nordic Orbit carbon SILVER - Andrus Värnik, EST - 85,17 - Nordic Airglider BRONZE - Boris Henry, GER - 84,74 - Nordic Orbit carbon

I own the following:
Apollo Laser 70m Nemeth Classic 85m Nemeth Classic 90m
I've had the Laser for about 4 years and seems to work well in all conditions but bought the Nemeths as the laser seemed to be stalling as I was approaching 60m. As yet I haven't thrown the Nemeths well but can see that they are certainly more rigid through the air, so I'm hoping it was a sound investment after all!

Best Jav is Airglider by far, although the grip is a bit thin. I've had all my best throws with it. Best training jav is a OTE 700gm but at a 800gm dimension, nice and soft and forgiving and flys well even at distances in excess of 75m+. Great for training with if you have elbow and shoulder probs

I have, Sandvik master 60 which has the tip split because I have stones in the grass at my local track. This use to fly well and I did have a sanvik 70 that I snapped in half when I threw another jav in warm up and hit it.
OTE Headwind comp OTE Tailwind 90m OTE Tailwind comp 100m (newest)
I find I can throw 60m+ training/comp in a headwind or tailwind with the 90m tailwind. It flys nice but you have to hit through the point and high. Yet to throw the 100m tailwind in training or comp so I'll let you know how it is.
OTE all the way.

Just had my first comp today and wondered if the following was normal..... when they weighed my javelin (800g nemeth 70m standard) it came in at 813g, is this normal to be this far over the 800g mark ?

Very normal....
sanvik master 60.......about 830 (very old jav with split end) OTE Tailwind 90m....805 OTE Headwind 90m....810 OTE Tailwind 100m.... not sure, never weighed yet.
You have to be carefull if you hit a stoneas it may shave a little off.
I know someone who had underweight jav by 1gram. He soaked the grip with water which bought the weight legal. He threw grap with a wet grip though.

You can get them custom painted but it will cost you a hell of alot of money. if you want a choice out of different colours then your best bet is to go for a Nemeth or Sandvik. The other thing you could do if you can be assed is to spray paint a javelin in a colour or colours of your choice. But i would not do this to a expensive javelin.

louHave a look in the Latest Jav post in Offers from Suppliers, it has a link to the Nordic website they make good, EXPENSIVE, colourful jav's. Or get in touch with Neuff or Pro Athletics (ask for a catalogue) as they sell all kind of jav's
